Our Philosophy

Our club ethos ensures that we are known throughout our local community as a welcoming, fun and all inclusive football club, regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender, physical or mental barriers, age or ability, providing Football for All whether you want to play for fun, or as part of a team. We also work alongside Keele University to support students with volunteer opportunities.

It is important to the club that we provide a pathway into adult football, by catering for children from under 6 years of age, giving them the best possible start to their footballing journey with focus on both enjoyment and the technical fundamentals of the game, right through to open age football if they wish to continue beyond 16 years of age.

Our primary objective is to ensure that all of our players are developed to maximise their potential both as individuals and within the game.  As a two star England Accredited club, we ensure that all of our coaches are committed to provide the best quality coaching and encourage them to constantly improve through Club or FA led CPD or further FA qualifications, as well as providing access to the Coaching Manual for further support.

Our Vision

Football is a game that brings people together, inspires generations and promotes team spirit and we are committed to encouraging both a footballing and non-footballing environment within the club, which is fully inclusive of all people regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender, physical or mental barriers, age or ability.  We provide a pathway to adult football from mini soccer through to open age, and as an England Accredited 2 star club, we demonstrate that our club is sustainable, resilient, built to last and creates the ideal environments to nurture players, coaches and volunteers, as well as being committed to staying the best place for people to play and enjoy football.

We encourage our teams to play within the spirit of the game competitively, putting development and enjoyment of football before results specifically, whilst placing an emphasis upon creating an environment that promotes and expects respect and fair play from everybody within the club, from the players to the parents on the side-lines.  It isn’t about winning every cup, but about setting an example of excellence in the way in which we do things.

Our Mission

To provide football, in an enjoyable, positive, fun and supportive environment for all, regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender, physical or mental barriers, age or ability.  We endeavour to develop the confidence, courage and pride in every player to enable them to achieve their potential.

We have the following specific objectives:

  • To encourage participation and enjoyment of local football

  • To develop the skills of players

  • To provide a competitive and positive environment in which to play
    and learn

  • To promote sportsmanship and fair play

  • To provide young players with the technical and social skills, allowing them to become successful at the game we all love

We want the White Star family to have a lifelong association with our club and the beautiful game.

Our Values

Friendly. Fun. Fair.

We want our club to be a place where our members remain throughout their development.

We want to instill a lifelong love for football, whether that is through playing, coaching, refereeing or volunteering.

Why should your child get

into football?

Children play football because it is fun, challenging and exciting. Most kids love being part of a team. Football teaches cooperation and team work, helps develop positive social skills and teaches respect for others.

Football helps build self-confidence, a positive self-image and self-worth. It enables a child to improve upon and develop a broad range of motor skills like throwing, catching (if goalie!), running, kicking, balance, agility and coordination.

A large variety of skills and physical abilities are required on a football team, there is a position for every child to play.  Whether you want to just play, or want to join a team here at Madeley White Star FC, we have something for everyone!  We're frequently asked how you can join our club, if you complete our Player Expression of interest form, we'll be in touch to let you know if we have any availablity

Mini Soccer to Adult Football

We currently provide a full pathway to male adult football from mini soccer through to open age, however we are working together with Staffordshire FA to increase female participation in our community so that we can develop the female side of our club.

Although we currently don't have any girls only teams, we do have a number of team within the club who are mixed.

We have various teams within our club from U7s through to U15s who play in the North Staffs Junior Youth League and Staffordshire Junior Football League, U16s - U17s who play in the North Staffs Youth League, U16s who play in the Midlands Junior Premier League and our open age team play in the Staffordshire County Senior League..

Are you looking to

set up a girls or ladies team?

We are currently working with Staffordshire FA to develop the female side of our club.  If you're interested in running a girls or ladies team, we can help you to get started on your coaching journey - please contact our club secretary by clicking here

We are an FA approved Weetabix Wildcats Centre, and provide football sessions for girls during the summer months (due to our coaches having commitments with their teams during the football season).  Everyone is super awesome; from the friends you’ll meet to our FA qualified coaches.

Weetabix Wildcats is non-competitive football for girls age 5-11 who want to give it a go for the very first time, or want to play with other girls their own age. Sessions take place during the summer due to our coaches having commitments with their teams throughout the season.
