Club Wiki

We are a local community football club with 2 star England Accreditation, established in 1906 by Ernest Buckley using a grant of £60 from the local to Church to set up a team.  Madeley White Star were established from Madeley United, with evidence from Staffordshire FA dating back as far as 1894 and we are proud to be one of the oldest clubs in Staffordshire.

Our club has grown substantially over the last few years, with the number of teams increasing from just 5 to 22, with over 300 players registered.  Our aim is to help children and young people from as young as 4 years to develop their footballing skills, in a non-competitive, structured but fun environment with no pressure, offering them a pathway to join a team from U7s mini soccer through to Open Age.

We have a partnership with Bee Active and have a Saturday morning Community Football School at Keele Sports Centre, which is extremely popular and runs every week for boys and girls of all abilities from ages 2 - 12 years.  You can fine more information or book a session by clicking here.

We are also an approved FA Wildcats Centre providing football sessions for girls only on Saturdays - sessions run throughout the summer

As a 2 star England Football Accredited Club, all our Coaches are FA licensed, FA qualified with a minimum qualification of FA Introduction to Coaching Football.  We are extremely proud to have one of our First Team players' and Coach who is UEFA  A qualified.    We also have three coaches who have gained their UEFA C qualifications and one coach who has obtained his FA Level 1 Goalkeeper Coaching qualification and another who has gained his FA Level 2 Goalkeeper Coaching qualification. We also ensure that our all our coaches have an in date FA Enhanced DBS, FA Safeguarding and FA First Aid certificates.  All assistant coaches/managers are required to also have an in date FA Enhanced DBS, FA Safeguarding and the new FA Playmaker qualification.

Former Madeley White Star Player, and local lad Nathan Smith, currently a first team player at Port Vale still has strong links with our club and is involved with our First Team, planning and running their weekly training sessions.

We are affiliated to Staffordshire FA, and have teams representing our club in the North Staffs Junior Youth League (NSJYL), the Staffordshire Junior Football League (SJFL), the Midlands Junior Premier League (MJPL),  North Staffs Youth League (NSYL) and the Staffordshire County Senior League (SCSL).  To see information regarding fixtures, results and tables, please see the links below.

Please note that for age groups 11 years and under, no results will be published or tables kept - these fixtures are development fixtures only.

As an England Football Accredited club, our mission is to provide football to the community and surrounding area for children aged 4 years through to open age group, inspiring all our members to be active and healthy.  As a supporter of local charity North Staffs Mind, we also promote the importance of mental health awareness and the benefits of how physical activity can improve your mental health and well-being.  If you're looking to join a team, please take a moment to look at our News page to see if we have any spaces available.  You will find a warm welcome and experienced coaching staff await you here at Madeley White Star FC.
